Acupuncture is available to support older Australians living independently at home, often funded through government-subsidized Support at Home Program (Home Care Packages) or the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). These services are to help manage chronic pain, improve mobility, and promote overall wellness, allowing seniors to remain in their homes longer.

Accessing Acupuncture Support

  • My Aged Care Support: Acupuncture is recognised as a therapeutic service under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home Care Packages (HCP).

  • Eligibility: An aged care assessment is necessary to determine eligibility for these services, which can be arranged via My Aged Care.

  • Providers: Seniors can access home care packages through a Home Care service provider that is registered with the government and these funds can then be allocated for acupuncture treatment.

  • Access: Once registered with Home Care provider a request for Acupuncture can be made and then your service provider can link you with an acupuncture clinic such as Melbourne Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Clinic at True Health in Ormond Vic.

  • If Melbourne Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Clinic  is not yet registered with your specific government approved service provider let them know and we will complete the necessary steps to be able to provide your acupuncture treatments.
